Emergency Responder Training

This page will include a list of upcoming training for responders in Johnson County. 

If you have questions or know of training available in the county, please call the Department of Emergency Management office at (479) 754-6383 Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30 or text/call Klay's cell at (479) 774-0128.

All FEMA and Arkansas Fire Training Academy courses are now requiring a FEMA Student ID (FEMA SID) to register.  If you do not already have a FEMA SID you may register for one at

In-Person Training

  • J.C.O.R.E. Naloxone Awareness and Training – May 6, 2024
    Location: RFD #8 Fire Station, 7574 Highway 164, Clarksville
    When: Monday, May 6, 2024 18:00 (6:00 pm)

  • J.C.O.R.E. Naloxone Awareness and Training – April 29, 2024
    Location: RFD #1 Fire Station, 4382 Highway 21, Clarksville
    When: Monday, April 29, 2024 18:00 (6:00 pm)

  • NWS Basic Storm Spotter Training – April 22, 2024
    Host:  Johnson County Dept of Emergency Management
    Location: First Security Bank Community Room, 115 N Cravens St, Clarksville
    When: Monday, April 22, 2024 starting at 6:00 PM

    This class will be conducted by the National Weather Service Little Rock office. More information can be found at

    This class counts towards 2 hrs of certified training for Act 833.

    This class is open to the public and all emergency responders.
  • AirEvac Lifeteam Traumatic Brain Injury/Neck Injury/Spinal Motion Restriction Training – January 18, 2024
    Host:  Franklin County
    Location: ATU Ozark Student Services Center, 1700 Helberg Lane, Ozark
    When:  Thursday, January 18, 2024 18:00-21:00 (6:00-9:00 pm)
    
    This training will counts towards 3 hours of Act 833 certified training.

  • AirEvac Lifeteam Traumatic Brain Injury/Neck Injury/Spinal Motion Restriction Training – December 21, 2023
    Host:  RFD #3 - Hagarville
    Location: RFD #3 Fire Station 1, 10577 Highway 123, Clarksville
    When:  Thursday, December 21, 2023 18:00-21:00 (6:00-9:00 pm)
    
    This training will counts towards 3 hours of Act 833 certified training.

  • Auto Extrication – December 2-3, 2023
    Host:  RFD #6 - Ozone
    Location: RFD#6 Fire Station, 14129 Highway 21, Ozone
    When:  Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3 starting at 09:00 (9:00 am)
    
    This course counts towards 16 hours of Act 833 certified training.
    
    AFTA Applications must be submitted to the Academy no later than Friday, November 17.  You may submit your application directly to the Fire Academy online using the link below:
